Portuguese Eco-Friendly Resort

A new sustainable development in central Portugal which offers the latest innovations in green housing has gone on the market. Joia das Dunas features beautiful villas in the stunning Silver Coast region.

Each villa is built from locally sourced building materials which are recyclable wherever possible with the heating and cooling systems powered by natural geothermal energy. The development is further proof that property developers the world over are starting to realise the lucrative business of building environmentally sustainable homes and are starting to cash in on the global push for becoming carbon neutral and more environmentally aware.

The development aims to minimise the carbon footprint without compromising on the design. The Silver Coast is a beautiful stretch of coastline and is a short 35 minutes driver from Lisbon airport. According to their estimates, heating costs will be about 66-74% cheaper than standard gas or electric alternatives.

Each villa has three en-suite bedrooms, under-floor heating, pools, a BBQ area, terrace and underground car parking. Foxtons are currently offering the first 18 villas for between €575,000 to €810,000.
